A Guidebook to Life
Time to write the next chapter

Dear diary (and all of you out there reading this),
Finally, I got started. It’s pretty dope to see that 25 of you joined directly. I am happy and thankful to have you onboard. Here is me showing my gratitude in my quirky way.
This is a perfect segway to the first learning: “Celebrate small wins.” I might not be a famous influencer yet and am far away from that, but I got many of you interested enough to use your time to click subscribe. On the other hand, this creates an urgency for me to deliver. But hey, it’s not hard, as my number one priority in life is to see, start, do, and finish trials of life so I can share with you what works and what does not.
And that is another excellent segway towards today's topic: the Guidebook of Life. This is a concept I learned about while reading “Hidden Potential” by Adam Grant. Firstly, I must say that I will probably refer back to this book tons of times - It’s an absolute masterpiece. If you want to learn more about it the link to it is here: https://adamgrant.net/book/hidden-potential/
So, to the point. The Guidebook of Life is more of a concept than something physical. Think of it as a book/journal/database that collects pearls of wisdom together of what makes your life suitable to form the ultimate reference book for living well. A good reference guide that deals with most of life's (YOUR) daily problems, like nutrition, parents, relationships, stress, work - you name it.
Are you using something like this? I, for sure, have not been. The result? I keep rediscovering things that work, failing to test, and pivoting to new things. Concrete example could be nutrition, by eating a certain way, documenting that way and the reflecting if that worked or not you will get a data point. If a positive experience - note it in the book as something that works for you. Say you find something different that drives the same action - note it down as an alternative or substitute the other.
With time you end up creating a guide to the things that work for you. This allows you to revisit your positive baseline when you’re getting lost. It helps you build systems that work for you. The interesting thing about this book is that it can’t be bought nor created by anyone else. Why?
"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference." - Robert Frost, from his poem "The Road Not Taken."
Continuing from the quote by Robert Frost, the journey of self-discovery and personal growth is inherently a personal and unique experience. The "book" you metaphorically write through your life's choices and experiences is one of a kind because it is the culmination of your decisions, mistakes, triumphs, and lessons learned. This book can't be bought nor created by anyone else because no two people have the same experiences, perspectives, or reactions to life's events. Each person's path is influenced by a myriad of factors that are unique to them—personal values, upbringing, social interactions, challenges faced, and the ways in which they choose to overcome those challenges.
By learning from the choices you make and the paths you take, you essentially create a Guidebook of Life to the things that work for you. This guide is not just about what to do; it's also about what not to do. It helps you identify your strengths and weaknesses, your values, and what truly matters to you. When you're feeling lost or uncertain, you can revisit this guide—not a physical book, but the collection of experiences and lessons you've internalized—to help find your way back to your positive baseline.
This process of revisiting helps you build systems and habits that are tailored to your unique needs and goals. It's about finding what works for you in terms of productivity, happiness, relationships, and personal well-being. The customization of your life's system is what makes it so effective; it's built on the intimate knowledge of who you are as an individual.
This is Ronnyology 101: life cannot be created by anyone else is the same reason that advice, while helpful, needs to be adapted to fit one's personal context. Advice can guide, inspire, or offer a new perspective, but it cannot replace the deep, personal understanding that comes from walking your own path. Each person's life is a complex tapestry of individual experiences, and the wisdom gained from navigating these is uniquely their own. In essence, the journey of self-discovery and personal development is about crafting a life that is authentically yours, informed by the roads you've chosen to travel, less traveled or otherwise.
A Quote of Inspiration
“Throughout the millennia and across cultures, those who have thought carefully about desire have drawn the conclusion that spending our days working to get whatever it is we find ourselves wanting is unlikely to bring us either happiness or tranquility.”
